Is Sandy Nash Admin Support a Virtual Assistant or a Paraplanner?

When set up in 2014, Sandy Nash Admin Support (SNAS) was an Outsourced Paraplanner. Work undertaken was solely within the Financial Services industry and included all the elements of the role that a financial adviser and their support team do, including both back office and client-facing. Over the years, SNAS has found a lot of crossover between the work of a Paraplanner and a Virtual Assistant (VA). We now offer VA services alongside the existing Paraplanner specialism.

Whether described as a Paraplanner or a VA, or both, Sandy is a self employed professional assistant who offers administration support, including paraplanning to small businesses and individuals. Work can be arranged either on a hourly, task or retainer basis. Find out more by taking a look at the Services and Charges pages.

I've heard about IR35 and am worried about the tax implications of outsourcing work. Can you explain?

IR35 rules are designed to assess whether a contractor is a genuine contractor rather than a 'disguised' employee, for the purposes of paying tax. We would have a contract in place which clearly demonstrates our business relationship as being one of an outsourced, self employed, provider of services and not as an employee.

Time recording. Sandy, coming from a solicitor and accountancy firm background is accustomed to maintaining timesheets for her work. She now uses a system called Clockify and can produce a breakdown of the recording.
