About Sandy's Table Tennis

Playing since around age 9 or 10, Sandy has now played table tennis for over 40 years!

Sandy first became involved in coaching in the late 1980s. She re-qualified as a Table Tennis England coach under the mentorship of Terry Wilson at Ellenborough Table Tennis Club in 2017.

Sandy has enjoyed running several Secondary School After School Table Tennis Clubs for school years 7 to 11. She has also assisted PE staff with GCSE assessments for the table tennis element for PE GCSE. She can support Duke of Edinburgh Scheme participants who've selected Table Tennis for their Sport, Skill or Volunteering element.

She has lead adult coaching groups to help them to create structure to their club practice times. Emphasis is on a bespoke program and keeping it fun whilst continuing to learn and improve.

She is a volunteer coach at Table Tennis England Premier Club, Ellenborough Table Tennis Club in North London and regularly runs their junior beginner/ intermediate coaching as well as Women & Girls sessions.

Sandy runs a weekly coaching group for people with Parkinson's (formed 2022). The benefits of table tennis for people with Parkinson's are immense and Sandy has enjoyed sharing her love of this great and versatile sport.

Coaching highlight in 2023 was being the Table Tennis Coach at Wheelpower's London Festival for people with physical disabilities. The festival participants varied in age from 8 to 83! It has been a super experience for Sandy to continuously grow her coaching skillset and meet people with many different abilities.

Find Sandy's Table Tennis England Coaching Licence here. To maintain the Licence Table Tennis England require DBS checks, First Aid Certificate and Safeguarding training to be kept up to date. In addition Sandy attends regular CPD (Continuous Professional Development) to keep her coaching methods current.
